What is Romans 10 about concerning Israel?

Romans 10 addresses Israel’s present status during this dispensation, showing that since everything was accomplished at the cross there is no difference between Jew and Gentile. A Jew need not abandon Jewishness but must separate from the Old Testament economy, because this age of grace has nothing to do with Law.

Les explains that Romans 10 is the middle chapter in a three-chapter sequence: chapter 9 covers Israel’s past, chapter 10 covers Israel’s present, and chapter 11 covers Israel’s future. Chapter 10 therefore deals with Israel in this present dispensation. Paul made plain back in Romans chapter 3 that now, since everything has been accomplished at the cross and he is going out into the Gentile world, there is no difference. A Jew does not have to give up his Jewishness, but he must separate himself from the Old Testament economy, because this age of grace has nothing to do with Law. That was all settled at the cross, as Colossians says he took them and nailed them to his cross.
