Where did Elijah flee to after the showdown on Mount Carmel and what did he say to God there?

After Jezebel threatened him, Elijah fled from Mount Carmel in northern Israel far south to the mount where the Ten Commandments were given, then sat exhausted under a juniper tree. There he asked God to take his life and end His dealing with Israel, claiming he alone was left.

Les explains that after Elijah heard Jezebel's threat that he would be killed the next day like her priests, Elijah ran all the way from Mount Carmel in northern Israel down to the southern area, which Les thinks was the mount where the Ten Commandments were given. Exhausted and puckered out, Elijah sat under a juniper tree and prayed, "Lord take my life," asking God to end His dealing with Israel because he believed he was the only faithful one left. God corrected him, telling him there were still 7,000 who had not bowed their knee to Baal. Les points out that 7,000 out of a few million was still only a little remnant, and this pattern of only a small remnant of true believers has always been the case, including at Christ's first advent.
