What has God done among the Gentiles now?

God has called out a people from among the Gentiles, calling them to Himself. These Gentiles, once not reckoned as God's people, are now called the children of the living God. This calling is distinct from Israel and will continue until God turns back to Israel.

Les explains that these Gentiles were never reckoned in the Old Testament to have anything to do with Israel's God, but now they are indeed a people God has called out from among the Gentiles, called to Himself. This people is the Body of Christ, enjoying a position even Israel will never attain. As members of the Body of Christ, they are the children of God, born ones of God by virtue of their salvation experience. Les has the impression that the Church will be the Bride of Christ, and as such, joined heirs with Christ, they will rule and reign with Him. When God is through with this calling, as Romans 11 shows, He will turn back to His covenant people, Israel. Romans 9:26 declares that in the place where they were told 'You are not My people,' there they shall be called the children of the living God, and that is us, the Gentiles.

Romans 9:25

As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
