What does most of Christendom believe about God and Israel?

Most of Christendom believes God is through with Israel. Roman Catholics, Protestants, and many other groups set Israel aside, teaching that God turned to the church and transferred Israel's promises to it. Historically, many also accused Israel of being Christ killers, concluding God had finished with that covenant nation.

Les explains that the largest part of Christendom—including Roman Catholics, Protestants, and many other groups—refuses to accept that God is not through with the nation of Israel. Most have set Israel aside. He notes that even back in the Reformation many were basically anti-Semitic because they accused Israel of being the Christ killers, and consequently concluded that God had turned to the church with all the promises given to Israel because He was through with that little covenant nation. But Les insists, “Don’t you believe it.” The book of Romans is adamant that even though God has set Israel aside for the last 2,000 years, He is one day going to bring them back to the land and pick up where He left off with His covenant people.
