Will God restore Israel after setting them aside for 2,000 years?
Yes. Though God set Israel aside for this last 2,000 years, He will one day bring them back to the land and pick up where He left off with His covenant people. They remain His chosen people despite unbelief and spiritual blindness, and He has not given up on them.
Les teaches that Romans 9–11 deals directly with the nation of Israel: chapter 9 covers Israel's past, chapter 10 covers Israel today in the age of grace, and chapter 11 covers what is still ahead. He stresses that much of Christendom wrongly believes God is through with Israel, sometimes from Reformation-era anti-Semitism that accused Israel of being Christ killers and claimed God turned to the church with Israel's promises. But Les says, don't you believe it. The book is adamant that even though God set Israel aside for this last 2,000 years, He will one day bring them back to the land and pick up where He left off with His covenant people. The Jew is still God's chosen people, though largely in unbelief and spiritually blinded; God has not given up on them.
