What has God promised concerning the nation of Israel's future kingdom?

God has promised that He will yet return to be Israel’s king and will give them the kingdom. Though people grow impatient and time passes, God’s promise is certain; because He has said it, it will happen according to His eternal timetable, not man’s.

Les explains that this is like God’s promise to Abraham and Sarah about Isaac: even when they lost sight of it, it was still God’s promise and it was going to happen. He says the same is true of the promises concerning the nation of Israel. God has promised that He is yet going to return and be their king, and He is yet going to give them the kingdom. It is promised, and it will happen because God has said it. Les notes that man does not go on God’s timetable and gets impatient, but with God, who is eternal, time does not mean anything. His wait for the Lord to call us up is not even a split second in God’s timing; it may be that long yet, though he thinks we are getting close.
