What happened when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in Genesis 3?

When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they fell and sinned against God, plunging everything under the curse. God, who knew they would do this, immediately promised a Redeemer, the promise recorded in Genesis 3:15. This response to their sin set the stage for redemption.

Les explains that Adam and Eve had just eaten of the forbidden fruit, and they had fallen and sinned against their God, which God knew they would do. Their fall plunged everything under the curse. Immediately God promised a Redeemer, and Les points to Genesis 3:15 as that promise. He connects this to the Christ of redemption and to the earlier teaching on the redemption of creation in Romans chapter 8.
