Should believers serve God the same amount on weekdays as on Sunday?
Paul writes that believers should not regard one day higher than another but regard every day alike. Service to God is to be just as much Monday through Friday as on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is not set up as a special holy day above the other six days.
Les explains that in this age of grace the book says nothing about practicing a system of worship; Christ nailed all that to His cross, and believers are now free. Romans 13 says not to regard one day higher than another but to regard every day alike. Sunday itself is not taught in Scripture as a special holy day above the other six. Paul merely spoke of coming together and bringing offerings on the first day of the week, resurrection day. So every day is alike for the believer, and we are to serve God just as much Monday through Friday as Saturday and Sunday. Les also connects legalism to the Judaizers in Galatia, who wrongly told Gentiles they had to keep the Law for salvation; Paul warned them not to become legalists.
