Are Christmas and Easter biblical?
Christmas and Easter are not biblical. The Bible gives no instruction or right to celebrate certain high days, to celebrate Christ's birth, or to make Easter a special holy day. Such practices come out of paganism and Old Testament Judaism and have no place in the age of grace.
Les teaches that in this age of grace there is no right to bring so-called religious practices into our system of worship. He says there is no room for feast days and holy days, nor for the robes and miters of the high priests. Regarding Christmas and Easter, he does not make a big deal over the commotion but tells people they are not biblical. Nothing in the Book gives the right to celebrate certain high days, to celebrate the birth of Christ, or to make Easter a special holy day. He explains these come out of paganism and Old Testament Judaism, and he points to Colossians 2:14 as part of not incorporating Judaism's services into the church age.
