Did any other nation besides Israel experience God coming down on a mountain with thunder, fire, and His glory?
Scripture indicates no other nation ever experienced God descending on a mountain with thunder, fire, and His glory. Only Israel at Mount Sinai had that encounter and lived. The same unique glory later filled Solomon's temple, but no pagan temple ever showed such an invading divine glory.
Les explains from Deuteronomy that Moses reminded Israel no other nation had ever experienced the mountain on fire as Israel did at Mount Sinai. No other people on earth had experienced God coming down on the mountain with thunder and fire and His glory and lived, but Israel did. Les then jumps centuries ahead to Solomon finishing the temple. When Israel gathered for its dedication, God's glory, His Shekinah, filled the temple so fully the priests did not dare intrude. Les adds that you could visit every pagan temple that ever existed and never find evidence of that kind of invading glory; only Israel experienced it.
