Will God ever cast off Israel according to Jeremiah 31?

No. Jeremiah 31 declares that as long as the sun, moon, stars, and natural ordinances remain, and heaven cannot be measured nor earth's foundations searched out, God will not cast off the seed of Israel for all they have done. Their rejection of Messiah did not cancel His covenant promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Les explains that people who claim God is all through with the Jew and cast Israel off when they crucified their Messiah do not know their Bible. Scripture is adamant that He is still going to come back and fulfill the covenant promises made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In Jeremiah 31:35, the Lord who gives the sun for light by day and the ordinances of the moon and stars for light by night, the Creator and Sustainer, says that if those ordinances depart from before Him, then the seed of Israel would cease from being a nation before Him forever. If heaven above can be measured or the earth's foundations searched out beneath, then He would cast off the seed of Israel for all they have done. Les says it cannot be done; God will never cast aside Israel. The problem was their rejection and crucifixion of Messiah, but God is not through with His chosen nation. Individual Jews can be saved in the age of grace, yet the tribulation is primarily God dealing with Israel, not the church.

Jeremiah 31:36

If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

More Questions

What does Jeremiah 31:35-36 mean about Israel ceasing to be a nation?

According to Jeremiah 31:35-36, Israel will remain a nation before God forever because her continuance is tied to the fixed ordinances of nature: only if the laws of the sun, moon, and stars depart, or heaven can be measured and the earth's foundations searched out, would God cast off the seed of Israel.

Will God ever cast aside Israel and be done with his chosen nation?

It is impossible for God to ever cast aside Israel, so no one should believe for a minute that God is through with his chosen nation Israel.

Why will God never cast off Israel or let Israel cease as a nation?

God will never cast off Israel or let Israel cease to be a nation, because Israel's continuation is tied to the impossible removal of the fixed ordinances of nature and to the impossible task of measuring heaven and searching out the foundations of the earth.
