Why can Christians be assured that nothing will separate them from eternity with God?
Believers can be assured because Paul was persuaded—totally convinced—that no matter what happens, nothing can separate them from spending eternity with their Creator God. Even when led like sheep to slaughter, they remain more than conquerors through the One who loved them. This assurance rests not in fleshly strength but in the One who loved them.
Les explains that this book looks at everything in the light of eternity, so believers take the blessed assurance that regardless of what may happen, nothing can separate them from spending eternity with their Creator God. Using the analogy of sheep going quietly down an alley to their death, Les points out that though we are led like sheep to the slaughter, the next verse says we are conquerors. Believers need not mind being meek, quiet, or persecuted, and can endure without 'squealing like a hog,' because in the end they are still more than conquerors through the One who loved them. Paul says he was persuaded—totally convinced—of this, unlike King Agrippa, who was only 'almost' persuaded.
