Was Jesus the Creator God when He died on the cross?

Yes. Jesus Christ, as He died on the cross, was the Creator Himself, a member of the Godhead. His sacrificial death was determined by Himself on our behalf, and He remained God in that death, accomplishing redemption. This confirms He did not cease to be divine while suffering.

Les teaches that Christ was the Creator God, and he recalls that when he first taught this, people were aghast and later asked if he was sure he knew what he was talking about. He says he had just seen it in the last few weeks and had to teach it. Later he found another writer saying the same thing—that Christ was the Creator—and since then he has seen it many times, though it was not often heard or seen in print for a long time. Regarding the cross, Les explains that Jesus Christ as He died on that cross was the Creator Himself, a member of the Godhead. He also recounts Martin Luther struggling over Psalms 110 verse 1, “And the Lord said unto my Lord, Come sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” Luther eventually exclaimed, “It was God crying out to God!” because Christ is God.
