Les Feldick Bible Study

What will a weaned child be able to do around a cockatrice's den in the restoration?

In the restoration, a weaned child will be able to put his hand on a cockatrice's den. The cockatrice is another venomous thing to be feared, but there will be no fear, because the curse will be lifted and the danger of such creatures removed.

Les explains that the restoration reverses the curse's cruelty. Under the curse, leopards and cheetahs pick on the babies of other species, such as baby deer or baby zebra, things that cannot keep up. But when the curse is lifted, the leopard lies down with the kid, the calf, the young lion, and the fatling; they all pasture together, and a little child leads them. Mamas won't have to worry about their kids among leopards and lions. A nursing child will play on the hole of the old poisonous snake, the asp, with no fear. Verse 9 adds that a weaned child shall put his hand on a cockatrice's den, another venomous thing to be feared, and there is no fear. The next verse says they shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Isaiah 11:8

And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
