What happened to the natural world as soon as the curse fell?

As soon as the curse fell, present-day ecology was established, with one species feeding on another for subsistence. Predation, such as a leopard stalking deer or zebra, and birds robbing other birds' nests, did not reflect God's original creation; it resulted from the curse, and creation was subjected in hope.

Les teaches that just as soon as the curse fell, all present-day ecology was set up: one species of animal or bird feeds and makes its subsistence on another species. He points to wildlife accounts where a leopard stalks a deer or zebra, and birds rob the nests of other birds. He says that is not the way God created it; it is the result of the curse. Les then connects this to Romans 8, explaining that all creation is aware it was subjected to the curse, but also that the day is coming when the curse will be lifted. Paul writes by inspiration in Romans 8:20 that the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of Him who subjected the same in hope. Les adds that as soon as the curse fell, God came back and said He had a remedy, through the Redeemer, through the Son, and through the seed of the woman.
