What is everything based on?
Everything is based on God's love. The Almighty Creator, Triune God, extended His love toward us, and all things—including salvation and the blessings that follow—rest on that love. This love is the foundation for the sealing of the Holy Spirit and the down payment of our inheritance.
Les explains that everything is based on God's love. He points to Romans 5:8, where God, the Almighty Creator, Triune God, extended His love toward us. Les stresses that salvation is not based on church membership or baptism, because those are not in Scripture. After belief, God seals the believer with the Holy Spirit, marking His ownership, as a brand marks ownership for a cowman. The Holy Spirit is the earnest or down payment of our inheritance.
