Les Feldick Bible Study

What is the foundation of everything we believe in and hope for?

The foundation of everything believers believe in and hope for is Jesus Christ and His finished work of the Cross. Scripture declares that no one can lay any other foundation than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. All doctrine and hope rest securely in Him and His completed work.

Les explains from I Corinthians 3:10-11 that Paul, as the Master Builder, laid the foundation, and others build on it. The only foundation is Jesus Christ, and He is the foundation of everything we believe in and hope for—Christ and His finished work of the Cross. Les notes Paul alone received the revelations concerning the Church made up of Jew and Gentile; Peter refers to it later, but in his early preaching he knew nothing of the Body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:11

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
