Does your circle of friends change when you become a Christian?

Yes. When a person becomes a believer, the whole circle of friendships will probably change, because desires begin to change. It is two different worlds. This does not mean believers become so heavenly minded they are no earthly good; they still function, work, and plan.

Les teaches that when you become a believer, the whole circle of your friendships will probably change, and your whole desire begins to change. That is as it should be, because it is two different worlds. He cautions that this does not mean we get so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good. Believers still function, work, and plan. He mentions Paul's instruction that those with a family should care for it, and parents should lay up for the children. Accumulating wealth or an estate is not wrong if it is in God's timetable and plan. Then he returns to the verse: 'All things are passed away, and behold, all things are become new.' He connects this to Romans 8:9: you are not in the flesh, not under old Adam, but in the Spirit, under His control instead of old Adam, conditional if the Holy Spirit is dwelling in you.
