Who does Paul write his letters to?

Paul writes his letters exclusively to believers, not to the unsaved world. His letters address those who are already saved, teaching them deep doctrines so they can learn and grow in understanding of all God has done on their behalf.

Les explains that Paul's letters are all written to the class of believers. Paul always writes only to the believer; he does not write to the unsaved world. Although the material may be appropriate for the unsaved, Paul is not writing it to them. He is writing it to the believer. Even when Paul discusses those under the control of old Adam, it still comes from the Apostle's pen, but he is writing it to us. Les notes that believers do not have to know all these deep doctrinal things to be saved, but once they become a child of God, God expects them to learn, grow, and gain a graphic understanding of all God has done on their behalf. This is what Paul was privileged by the work of the Holy Spirit to give to us in his letters.
