To whom did Paul write his letters?
Paul wrote his letters to believers, and for the most part Gentile believers, though he did not leave the Jew out because in salvation there is no difference between Jew and Greek today. His letter to the Ephesians was written primarily to Gentiles, and the same truths apply to believers today.
Les explains that Paul always writes to the believers, and for the most part Gentile believers. He does not leave the Jew out, because there is no difference today between the Jew and the Greek so far as God's dealing in salvation is concerned. The Ephesians were primarily Gentiles. Paul says to these Ephesian believers—and he would just as well be writing it to us today—that in Christ they trusted, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel that Christ died, was buried, and rose again; after believing, they were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Les stresses that nothing else is required besides believing.
