Les Feldick Bible Study

Why does mankind reject God's laws even though they are clear?

Mankind rejects God's clear and precise laws because of human nature. As prohibition illustrated, people still wanted alcohol, so someone produced it. Scripture concludes that those in the flesh cannot please God, and without faith it is impossible to please Him. The unbeliever is an enemy of God.

Les teaches that the prohibition era is a parallel: laws could ban whiskey, but people still wanted it, and as long as they want it someone will produce it. That is human nature. Even though God's laws are clear and precise, mankind totally rejects them and wants nothing to do with them. Les then connects this to Romans 8:8, concluding that those in the flesh cannot please God. He also points to Hebrews 11:6 as an absolute: without faith it is impossible to please God. The unbeliever who is an enemy of God cannot please Him.
