Who do you receive when you believe the Gospel?
When a person believes the Gospel, they receive Jesus Christ into their life. He becomes their personal Savior. The Gospel is that Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead. Faith in that message brings Jesus Christ into the believer's life.
Les explains that hell, fire, and brimstone preaching is not the Gospel, and telling people to come forward and take Jesus into your life is not the Gospel by itself. The Gospel is that Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead. Then when you believe the Gospel, you are taking Jesus Christ into your life; He becomes your personal Savior. Les also recaps that the law of sin and death has been with man since Adam, but the law of the Spirit of Life supersedes it, and in Romans 8 the Holy Spirit is mentioned 19 times.
