Is 'no one can pluck them out of my hand' the full picture of the believer's security?

No. Scripture presents being hid with Christ in God as the fuller picture: the believer is wrapped up in the Godhead, nothing can touch us, and there is no condemnation. Jesus' statement about no one plucking them from His hand is called an almost simplistic understatement compared to these full ramifications.

Les explains that Colossians 3:3 declares the believer is dead to the old Adamic state, and their life is hid with Christ in God. Since God and Christ are one and the same in reality, the believer is wrapped up in the Godhead, and nothing can touch us. Les notes that Jesus' promise that no one can pluck them out of His hand is almost a simplistic understatement compared to this. The full ramifications are that if we have truly entered salvation by faith without any merit of our own, we can stand on the promise that we are dead to the old Adam, Christ is now our whole life, and when He shall appear, we shall also appear with Him in glory. Romans 8 adds there is now no condemnation to those in Christ.

John 10:28

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Colossians 3:3

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
