Why is it sad that Western religion is based on the Bible?

Les explains that this sadness comes because even in Western cultures, where much religion is based on the Bible, people can be totally ignorant of who Jesus Christ really is. He notes that when the lost are drawn before the great white throne, they will be speechless and sent to their doom because they refuse to recognize who He really is. Les illustrates this from an early home Bible class: when he stated that Jesus Christ was the Creator of Genesis 1, mouths dropped all over the room because they had never heard it. Later, several asked if he was sure. He adds that the more you get into the Bible, the more convinced you are that the One who hung on the Roman cross was the One who created the wood it was made of, the mount on which it was planted, and all the hosts of heaven.
