Why did Les say it is so sad to see a world full of religion?

Les teaches that it is sad because even though the world is full of religion, and even Western cultures base much of it on this book, people remain totally ignorant of who Jesus Christ really is. He points to the lost at the great white throne: regardless of other gods promoted or religion practiced, they will be speechless and sent to their doom because they refuse to recognize who He really is. He illustrates from his early home Bible class, where saying Jesus Christ was the Creator of Genesis 1 made mouths drop; the people had never heard it before. The more one gets into this book, he says, the more convinced one becomes that the One who hung on the Roman cross created the wood of that cross, the mount it was planted on, and all the hosts of heaven.
