Why are lost people sent to doom at the great white throne?
Lost people are sent to their doom at the great white throne because they refuse to recognize who Jesus Christ really is. Though they may have promoted other gods or practiced religion, they stand speechless before Him, ignorant that He is the Creator of Genesis 1, the hosts of heaven, and the one who hung on the Roman cross.
Les explains that when the lost are drawn up before the great white throne, they will be speechless. They may offer a little animation—asking, “Didn’t we do this, and didn’t we do that?”—but for the most part they stand before Him unable to answer. They are sent to their doom because they refuse to recognize who He really is. It is sad that a world full of religion, even in Western cultures that base much on this Book, remains totally ignorant of who Jesus Christ really is. Les recalls teaching a home Bible class where he said Jesus Christ was the Creator of Genesis 1; mouths dropped, and several later asked if he was sure. The more you get into this Book, the more convinced you are that the One who hung on that Roman cross created the wood of the cross, the mount it was planted on, and all the hosts of heaven.
