Les Feldick Bible Study

Who is the one who justifies God's elect, and to whom must believers give an account?

God alone justifies His elect; no neighbor, boss, husband, or wife can lay a charge against them or demand an account. Believers must give account to the triune God, the Creator and Sustainer, who determines who they are in the Spirit.

Les teaches that “elect” means chosen, and election is God’s act of choosing and designating people as He intends. He explains that it is God who justifies, not our neighbor, boss, husband, or wife, so believers do not have to give an account to any of them. The account belongs to the triune God, the Creator God and sustaining God, who determines who we are and what we are in the realm of the Spirit. Les then connects this to verse 34: if God has chosen us, forgiven us, and taken us unto Himself, who can condemn us? It is Christ who died and rose again. Paul constantly hammers this away, showing everything revolves around the finished work of the cross.

Romans 8:33

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

More Questions

Who can lay any charge against God's elect?

Because salvation is entirely what God has done, once God has elected us and we have responded and entered into His salvation, no one can lay any charge against God's elect or touch that salvation.

Why can no one bring a charge against God's elect?

Once God has elected us, we have responded and entered into His salvation, so nobody can touch that standing because it is entirely what God has done.
