What does the Trinity mean?

The Trinity means there is one God who exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. They are three distinct entities, yet one God. The term God refers to the triune God, the whole Godhead, and Scripture presents all three persons within a few verses.

Les explains that some people refuse to believe there is a Trinity and say God is One. He agrees God is One, but He is in three persons. In Romans chapter 8, within just a few verses, all three persons of the Godhead appear: the Spirit, God in His triune entity, and Christ. Les says this shows God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit—three distinct entities, yet one God. Whenever the term God is used, it refers to the triune God, the whole Godhead, as Paul calls it.
