Who determined that God would die sacrificially on our behalf?
God Himself determined, in His own knowledge and understanding, that the sacrificial death of Himself on our behalf had to occur. He is the one who purposed it. Jesus Christ is identified as the Creator God, a member of the Godhead, who died on the cross.
Les explains that in His knowledge and understanding, God Himself determined that it had to be the sacrificial death of Himself on our behalf. Les also recalls the first time he taught that Christ was the Creator God; people were aghast, having never heard it before. He then shares how Martin Luther struggled over Psalms 110:1, where it says, 'And the Lord said unto my Lord, Come sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.' Luther finally burst out of his study, almost screaming to his wife, 'Now I see it! It was God crying out to God!' because Christ is God. This confirms that the one who determined the sacrificial death was God Himself, a member of the Godhead.
