Les Feldick Bible Study

Why can I believe things in the Bible that are beyond human understanding?

You can believe them because faith is not blind but documented: Scripture provides evidence of its validity, and through faith you take God at His Word. Believers accept what exceeds human comprehension because the Bible proves itself, and God, being infinite, framed the universe by His spoken Word.

Les explains that some things in Scripture are so far beyond human comprehension that a person cannot believe them unless convinced this is the Word of God. He points to the abundance of evidence in the Book that removes doubt, so faith is not blind but documented. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen; by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith—simply taking God at His Word—believers understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. He spoke, and it came into being. The unbeliever cannot comprehend this, but believers can. Les also notes that creation is still moving further and further, and since God is infinite, there is no outer shell to His creation. The visible, tangible things were not made out of things that appear; everything created came out of nothing.
