Why is the universe still expanding and being created?
The universe keeps expanding because God is infinite, and His creation cannot be confined by an outer shell or boundary. It was framed by the Word of God, and what astronomers observe as ongoing creation and movement further outward reflects that unlimited, unbounded divine work.
Les explains that by faith we understand the universe was framed by the Word of God—He spoke, and it all came into being. Since God is infinite, there is no putting an outer shell on His creation, so it can continue moving further and further outward. He notes that astronomers say everything is still being created, and he can believe that because God Himself is unbounded. Everything seen and tangible came out of nothing.
