Should I approach Jesus as 'Lord Jesus Christ' when I pray to Him?

Yes, it is proper to approach Him as Lord Jesus Christ. After His finished work on the cross and resurrection, He becomes not just Jesus but the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture says to confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus, so believers should call on Him on those terms.

Les explains that calling on Him for salvation should be verbalized out loud, not merely assumed in the heart, because He wants us to audibly say it. Verse 9 says to confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus. Les points out this goes beyond the Jesus of His earthly ministry, since He had not yet died. After the work of the cross and the power of the resurrection, He becomes Lord of our life, not just Jesus but Jesus Christ the Lord, or the Lord Jesus Christ. Les says it is only proper to approach Him on those terms. Believing is an attitude of the heart, and the promise is that if you believe Christ died, was buried, and rose again, you shall be saved.
