Why do people have no fear of God before their eyes?

People have no fear of God before their eyes because they do not comprehend who God is or the power He can employ. They ignore Him and push Him out of their thinking, becoming enmity against God, total rebels not subject to His law, and unable to be subject to it.

Les explains that this statement comes from the book, not from him, and he asks why there is no fear of God before their eyes. The reason is that people have no comprehension of who God is or of the power He can employ. They ignore Him and have pushed Him out of their thinking. Paul addresses this in Romans 8, describing them as enmity against God, total rebels, not subject to the law of God and unable to be subject to it. Les also notes that even the Christian community may think morality can be legislated, but it cannot; people must stop wanting to use drugs before the drug business falls apart, illustrating that outward laws cannot change the heart.
