Why is every person born under condemnation?
Condemnation rests on every son of Adam because all people are born into the Adamic race as sinners. Scripture teaches all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Those who do not have the Son do not have life, so condemnation already rests upon them.
Les explains that condemnation rests upon every son of Adam. Because we are born into the Adamic race as sinners, we are all sons of Adam, and all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. He reminds us of Jesus' words in John's Gospel: he that hath the Son hath life; he who hath not the Son hath not life, and condemnation is already resting on him. Les contrasts this with Romans 8, where Scripture says there is therefore now no condemnation. What made the difference? The Gospel.
