Why do believers need to constantly pray for one another?

Believers must constantly pray for one another because they face a relentless adversary, Satan, who opposes every good work and attacks those who try to please the Lord. The more they attempt to do God's will, the more satanic opposition arises, so the prayers of the saints protect them.

Les explains that there is a fact of life: when he would do good, evil is present with him, and all believers experience this. The more you try to do what pleases the Lord, the more Satan attacks. That is why he pleads with his television audience and class people to pray, since the teaching is penetrating places Satan does not want it to go. He lives in constant fear of satanic attack and says the only thing protecting him is the prayers of the saints. He is thrilled when people write that they pray for him and Iris two or three times a day, and he says we need it—but so do you. Therefore he maintains that believers have to constantly pray for one another because they are up against an adversary who does not like anything they are doing. He has seen Satan attacking influential people who helped get the program going, though God has protected them so far. Paul faced the same opposition: whenever he attempted to do something glorious for God, the devil opposed him.
