What wages does old Adam pay?

Eternal death is the wage paid by old Adam, who is under Satan's control. In contrast, God's wages are eternal life, blessings, bliss, and all good things. Old Adam generates sins that work in the flesh and bring forth fruit whose end result is death.

Les explains that when we were in the flesh, or under old Adam, the motions of sins which were by the law worked in our members, in the body of flesh, to bring forth fruit, and the end result was death. He says that is all it can work for. As seen in verse 23 of chapter 6, the wages old Adam pays, who is under the control of Satan, is eternal death, whereas God's wages are eternal life, blessings, bliss, and all good things. Les then points to verse 6's "But" as the flip side: old Adam generated sins that became fruit unto death, but we are delivered from the law, being dead wherein we were held, to serve in newness of spirit under the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the Creator God Himself, not in the oldness of the letter or the law.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
