Why is the gospel hidden from people who are lost?
The gospel is hidden from the lost because Satan, called the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. His purpose is to prevent the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, from shining unto them. Until God removes that satanically inspired blindness, they cannot see.
Les teaches from 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verses 3-4, that if the gospel is hid, it is hid to them that are lost. The god of this world, Satan, has blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Les explains this is the dilemma believers face when trying to awaken people to their need. In Acts chapter 16, he emphasizes that there is not a thing believers can do until God takes away this satanically inspired blindness, and they must pray to that end.
