Does a person need to quit doing certain things before they can be saved?
No. A person does not have to quit doing certain things or stop going certain places before salvation. All they have to do is believe the gospel, and God will take care of those so-called hard decisions. Christ obtained eternal redemption once for all through the offering of His body.
Les teaches that a person does not need to clean up certain behaviors or stop going certain places before being saved. He explains that if someone had to suddenly do this and do that, quit doing that and quit going there, he could feel for them because that would not be easy. But that is not what they have to do. All they have to do is believe the gospel, and God will take care of all those so-called hard decisions. Les connects this to Hebrews, where Christ entered the holy place once, having obtained eternal redemption for us. He appeared once in the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, and by God's will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all, never to be done again.
