What does it mean to identify with Christ's death?

Identifying with Christ's death means the old Adam must die and be separated from us, just as Christ was truly dead for three days and three nights. This death is necessary so that, like Christ was raised by the Father's glory, we also come out of deadness and experience new life.

Les teaches that believers have been engulfed in the very death of Christ Himself and must identify with that death. He explains that the old Adam has to die and we have to be separated from him, even as Christ's three days and three nights in the tomb signified that He was really dead. Then, just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also are going to come out of a deadness and experience a new life. Les emphasizes that these concepts are fundamental to the Christian plan of salvation, though too many people are not hearing or aware of them.
