Why didn't Jesus destroy the soldiers and priests who crucified him if he had the power?

He possessed power to strike every Roman soldier and Jewish priest with a spoken word, yet He did not because He was obedient to the Father's will. He humbled Himself, became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross, knowing this was the Godhead's will.

Les explains that Jesus could have zapped the whole thing. He could have stricken every Roman soldier and every Jewish priest and high priest in Jerusalem with a spoken word, but He was obedient because He knew this was the will of the Father—the Godhead of which He Himself was now a part. The passage says He made Himself of no reputation, took the form of a servant, was made in the likeness of men, humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:8

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
