Who did God see with Jesus on the cross, in the tomb, and at the resurrection?

God saw believers—you and I—with Jesus on the cross, in the tomb, and at His resurrection. When Christ was crucified, buried, and raised, God viewed all who believe the gospel as present with Him, later seated together in the heavenlies.

Les explains that when Christ was on the cross, God saw you and I with Him. When He was in the tomb, God saw you and I with Him. And as He rose from the dead in resurrection power, you and I were in there with Him. Paul brings it out that believers have been raised, resurrected out of that deadness, and made to sit together in the heavenlies. Les emphasizes that believers are so special in God's sight simply because they believe the gospel that He considers them already seated with Him in the heavenlies. This is a comfort: loved ones who were believers are in His presence, already seated in the heavenlies, and death can kill the body but cannot kill that which is already a citizen of heaven.
