Can man start a nuclear holocaust before God says it is time?

Les teaches that God is in control, so the men of this world are not going to bring the end of the world or a nuclear holocaust until God says it is time. He illustrates this with the Iranian plane shot down in the Gulf, which ordinarily would have precipitated war but did not, because God kept it from igniting. Les is positive that during the Tribulation there will be nuclear warheads exploded, but it will not happen until God permits it. Man is not going to destroy the whole planet; God is. Therefore Les does not worry about these things, though he is against pollution and trashing the planet. He sees such signs, and Israel coming close to losing its identity, as indicators we are closer to the end than many realize.
