Today’s welfare system is a gross mismanaged mess because the Christian community failed to perform its good works from day one. Welfare programs should have been carried on by the believing element, but much Christian good work has gone by the boards.
Les explains that in Matthew 25 the sheep’s good works followed their salvation; they did not produce it. In the same way, he says society’s welfare system should have been the responsibility of believers. If the Christian community had done its good works from the beginning, the welfare system would not be the mismanaged mess it is. But Christians failed, and too much Christian good works has gone by the boards along with everything else.
