Why are many prison inmates in trouble according to Les?
Many prison inmates are in trouble because of alcoholism, as alcohol is what got them into trouble, and the drug culture also feeds into that problem. Such degrading activities, including drunkenness and reveling, thrive on wickedness and lead to misery, broken homes, and broken health.
Les explains that statistical estimates suggest a shocking percentage of prison inmates are there because of alcoholism—"It's their alcohol that got them in trouble"—and the drug culture adds to it. He connects this to Paul's list of wicked activities such as envying, murders, drunkenness, and revelings. People think reveling is a good time, but Les says it invariably leads to misery, broken homes, broken health, and destruction. Such a lifestyle belongs to the old Adam and is the playground of Satan.
