What must a person believe to have the faith that saves?
A person must believe that the God of creation took on human flesh, went to the cross, suffered, died, shed His blood as full payment for redemption, and rose victoriously over sin and death, now able to impart eternal life. This is believing on the One who justifies the ungodly.
Les teaches that salvation is not forced on anyone who says, "I have no need," because such a person would reject it. God waits for the cry for help. As the Lord said, the healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. Spiritually, when we realize our need and cry from the heart for salvation, God is there in that split second. It is all based on whether we can believe it. The saving faith is believing that yes, the God of creation took on human flesh, went to the cross, suffered, died, shed His blood as full payment for our redemption, and then rose victoriously over sin and death and the old devil himself, and now is able to impart eternal life. It is also believing on Him who justifies the ungodly—the one who works not but believes. The ungodly means without God, and most people do not like to admit that.
