What must a person personally decide and believe in order to be saved?
A person must personally decide to recognize themselves as a sinner and believe that what Christ has done on their behalf is all that God demands. Salvation is by grace, God's love and mercy, offering eternal life to sons of Adam if they will simply believe.
Les teaches that universalism is not according to the book; not everyone ends up in heaven. It still boils down to that personal decision to recognize oneself as a sinner and to believe that what Christ has done on one's behalf is all that God demands. Les also explains that we are justified freely by His grace, and that grace is God's attribute whereby, in His love and mercy, He pours out on the sons of Adam the opportunity for eternal life if they will just believe. He points to the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus as the most perfect picture of the grace of God in all of Scripture.
