How does the Old Testament relate to the New Testament?

The Old Testament dovetails with the New Testament, and both are well fitted together. The Old was predominantly the economy of law for Israel—temple worship, priesthood, and sacrifices—but after God turned to the Gentiles, that economy slipped away. The New reveals mysteries once hidden in God, not found in the Gospels or Old Testament.

Les teaches that the Old Testament is just as well fitted as the New, and everything in the Old dovetails with the New. He emphasizes Pauline teaching for today, even suggesting 90% of study time and Bible reading should be in Paul’s epistles, but he never says to forget the rest of Scripture. The Old Testament was predominantly the economy of law to Israel, with temple worship, priesthood, and sacrifices. But once God turned to the Gentile, that economy had to slip off the scene, and something totally different came in. Les asks people to search the Scriptures and notes that the language found in Romans and Paul’s other epistles is not found in the Gospels or Old Testament, because it is part of the mystery—secrets held in the mind of God—now being revealed.
