According to 1 Thessalonians 5:23, what part of us goes on into eternity?

According to 1 Thessalonians 5:23, the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—goes on into eternity, not merely the soul or spirit alone. Paul writes that God preserves the entire being blameless unto the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, so we enter eternity as a complete entity.

Les teaches from 1 Thessalonians 5:23 that Paul, by inspiration, writes that the very God of peace would sanctify, or set apart wholly, and that the whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Les explains that the part of us going into eternity is not just the soul and not just the spirit. Instead, we are going to go into eternity as a complete entity of body, soul, and spirit. He illustrates this preservation as being kept, like putting fruit in a jar, blameless until the coming of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
