Why did Christ become a man and die such a horrible death?

Christ, the Creator, took on human flesh and endured the most horrible death ever dreamed up by mankind, willingly and obediently, simply because He loved the human race. He did all that needed to be done to take care of old Adam, give a new divine nature, and pour out mercy to those who believe.

Les explains that God has done everything necessary to take care of old Adam, give believers a new divine nature, and set their feet on a rock; nothing can be added because Christ said, “It’s finished.” Les emphasizes that belief is not a mere acknowledgment but a genuine heart condition: the law condemns and convicts old Adam, and the person realizes God’s mercy has already been poured out and merely appropriates it. The Creator Himself came down, took on human flesh, lived thirty-three years on Israel’s dusty, dirty roads, and went the most horrible death ever dreamed up by mankind—willingly and obediently—because He loved the human race and did all that needed to be done. When we believe it, God gives the power again to live it.
