Why didn't the things God did for Israel apply to Gentiles?

Gentiles were aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise. They were not citizens of Israel, had no part in the covenants given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and were without God in the world. Therefore God's dealings with Israel under the Law did not apply to them.

Les explains from Ephesians 2:11-12 that Gentiles were aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, without God in the world. An alien is a foreigner with no rights because he is not a citizen. Everything God was doing for the Jew did not apply to a Gentile because Gentiles were not citizens of Israel. The covenants were given to Abraham, repeated to Isaac and Jacob, and Gentiles had no part in them. They were outside the covenants' promises and without God, which is why the ancient world was steeped in paganism, as seen in the temples of Greece, Ephesus, and Corinth. Les stresses that understanding the difference between God's dealing with Israel and the Gentiles is essential to avoid confusion.

Ephesians 2:12
